Call a Mechanic

Once a mechanic accepts your service request, you gain immediate access to their contact options within the RQM app. Here’s exactly how you can reach them to discuss your car’s issue:

Step 1: View the Mechanic’s Contact Options

As soon as the mechanic accepts your request, the platform will unlock two contact methods within your dashboard:

  • Audio Call

  • Video Call

The app is integrated with VideoSDK Call API to ensure smooth, real-time communication between you and the mechanic.

Step 2: Choose Your Preferred Call Type

Depending on your situation, you can choose the most suitable communication method:

  • Audio Call: Ideal for quick consultations or simple service requests.

  • Video Call: Perfect for when you need to visually show the mechanic your car’s issue or for more complex discussions.

Step 3: Ensure Permissions Are Granted

For seamless communication, make sure that the RequestMechanic (RQM) app has access to your microphone (and your camera if you plan to make a video call).

Step 4: Be Wallet-Ready

Calls on the platform are billed at ₦500 for every 2 minutes, deducted directly from your RQM wallet.

To avoid interruptions or error messages like "Insufficient Wallet Balance," make sure you’ve topped up your wallet before contacting the mechanic.

⚠️ Pro Tip:

For emergency situations where speed is key, an audio call may be quicker. However, for accurate remote diagnostics, opt for a video call.
